[Gdal-dev] OpenStreetMap support in OGR/GDAL

Hello List!

I am a participant in the OpenStreetMap project, working on a global,
free dataset for all to use! OpenStreetMap currently has approx. 6000
participants world wide building mapdata.

OSM has it's own XML file format. For this file format, no converters to
GIS are available yet.

I was wondering if this would be an opportunity for the GDAL group?

Within our local (Dutch) section of OpenStreetMap there are a couple of
C++ developers. I allready asked them if they would be willing to
contribute to GDAL/OGR.
