[gdal-dev] gdaltindex invalid shapefile

Hello,

I am trying to use gdaltindex to create a raster tile index for a series
of aerial photos.

C:\Program Files\FWTools2.0.6\bin>gdaltindex c:\2006\2006.shp
c:\2006\*.ecw

ERROR 4: Unable to open c:\2006\2006.shp or c:\2006\2006.SHP.

Creating new index file...

The resulting dbf of the shapefile has a 'location' field showing the
location of all the ecw files. This is it. It seems to be missing the
XMIN, YMIN, XMAX, YMAX fields and consequently ArcGIS is unable to load
the resulting 2006.shp

Using gdalinfo -stats I could manually enter this information but it
would take quite a while. So I just wanted to check that I'm doing
everything correctly?

Many thanks

Olly
