no problem, we all do what we can.

I'm not so sure -- then you have to build all of Python, and who knows
what other extensions! The whole point of mingw is that is can build
stuff that works with regular old windows applications, and I have
successfully built python extensions with it, so it should be doable.

Thanks. I'm using a slightly older version of msys -- maybe I'll try
that upgrade, and see id that helps any.

The python bindings to QGIS are getting a lot more use these days -- are
you building those?
