Actually the animal's name is the Canada Goose (one) or Canada Geese (several). 
They'd only be "Canadian" if they were born in Canada but the little map (have 
to work a map in here somewhere) at

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_Goose

suggests that more come from the U.S. than Canada. Sure it isn't your 
neighbor's poodle?
