Volker,
No, there is little point filing a ticket if you can't reproduce the
problem with the current code. It was quite possibly fixed, perhaps
as a side effect of some other fix or change.

I thought you were going to request "make uninstall". I'm not sure what
you think "make dist clean" would do. There is already a clean target.
Generally speaking upgrading can be accomplished by pulling down a new source
tree, building and installing it over the old installed tree.
