[gdal-dev] vertical datum transformations

Just tried out vertcon [1] for converting between the two common vertical 
datums in north america. It is distributed with fortran source which compiles 
nicely with f77, and seems like it can be converted to C with f2c (gcc 
compiles it). 

This application works ok, but it is a pain to use on more than one input 
filem and the output is somewhat arcane. Has anyone considered integrating 
this functionality into GDAL ?
