[gdal-dev] georeferencing image in Hilly terain-regarding

I would like to know  does gdalwarp uses the z coordinates of CGP data for  georeferencing the raw tiff image. If yes, the is it  possible to use  the DEM data thecorrection of image relief in hilly terrain.
