[gdal-dev] ImportError: No module named gdal

HI, i am a newbie
I am trying to merge two geotif files, with gdal_merge.py.
I get the following error message. 
ImportError: No module named gdal.

I am sure its just a configuration issue. I am using windows xp, and
FWTools2.4.7, and i did add the C:\Program files\FWtools2.4.7\Pymod to
the path, and rebooted but still get the error?

Any suggestion, will be greatly appreciated, than you.'
