After removing the GDAL_PAM_ENABLED=NO, I made a 
gdal_translate -a_nodata 0 
on the files, this generated the aux.xml files, and gdalinfo shows now the
nodata values :
Band 1 Block=4000x16 Type=Byte, ColorInterp=Red
  NoData Value=0
Band 2 Block=4000x16 Type=Byte, ColorInterp=Green
  NoData Value=0
Band 3 Block=4000x16 Type=Byte, ColorInterp=Blue
  NoData Value=0
gdal_retile is currently running, but it doesn't produce aux.xml files.
gdalinfo doesn't show any nodata value on the files generated by
gdal_retile. So I guess when the next level will start computing, the same
problem will reproduce. I should see the result monday.
