Yes, please don't.  system32 is even checked before %PATH% - apparently there's
no way around the updating the DLL in system32 (potentially breaking other
stuff) or putting the right DLL into the same directory then the DLL/EXE
referencing it.  Been there with OSGeo4W (see [1]) - still there is the
problem, that there might already be conflicting DLLs in system32 that take
precedence.
