[gdal-dev] FWTools and GDAL 1.7.0

So far, it sounds like I will have to build GDAL, with various options, third party plugins, and libraries configured for the build, in order to get the capabilities that I currently use from FWTools. (Unless a new release of FWTools is made, but that seems unlikely to occur at this point.)
The idea of a GDAL installer for Windows is definitely appealing. As an end product integrator, I won't be able to use the proposed Windows installer unless I continue to have a way to use GDAL's C, C++, and .NET APIs, and to add-in drivers that weren't included in the Windows installer.
Anyway, I'm just wish listing. :)

If the ECW and MrSID DLLs are added into the addons directory creatensis.pl
would include them in the installer along with the gdal17-ecw and gdal17-mrsid
packages from OSGeo4W. The standalone QGIS installer already does that.
No idea about the .NET bindings. Those should probably be put into OSGeo4W
first.
