I had run ./configure, so your changes are not sufficient, or there is 
another problem.

I have noticed that libgdal.la contains :

dependency_libs=' -R/usr/local/lib  -L/usr/lib64 -lgeos_c 
/usr/lib64/libsqlite3.la /usr/lib64/libexpat.la /usr/lib64/libNCSEcw.la 
/usr/lib64/libNCSCnet.la /usr/lib64/libNCSUtil.la -lgif 
/usr/lib64/libgeotiff.la -lproj /usr/lib64/libproj.la -ljpeg -ltiff 
-lpng -L/usr/lib64/postgresql-9.0/lib64 -lpq -lpthread -lcurl -lrt -lssl 
-lcrypto /usr/lib64/libgmp.la -ldl -lz'

If I add /usr/lib64/libNCSEcwC.la to this list, it works.
Sorry, but I don't know the autotools enough well to solve the problem 
myself.
