[gdal-dev] Testing dataset

Hi

 Is there a free data set that can be downloaded in order to check the
compliance or the conformance of a geographic software (something like
Geocapi) ?
I found a dataset for testing the NITF driver :
www.gwg.nga.mil/ntb/baseline/software/samplefile.html.
