[gdal-dev] Reprojection issue in gdal 1.6 with ArcGIS 10

What method in Gdal 1.6 should i use for reprojecting the image ?

Case 1(Working case):
1. Opened a tif image which has native coordinate system in ArcEditor 10.
The raster image displayed in map   window with its native coordinate
system.
/GEOGCS["GCS_WGS_1984",DATUM["D_WGS_1984",SPHEROID["WGS_1984",6378137.0,298.257223563]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0.0],UNIT["Degree",0.0174532925199433],AUTHORITY["EPSG",4326]]/
2. Now when i change the coordinate system to Projected Coordinate system->
British National Grid the image gets reprojected fine.

Case 2(not working case):
1. Here first i set the  coordinate system to Projected Coordinate system->
British National Grid and when the same tif image is selected to display in
my map window it was not re projecting.

What kind of logic/method should i use for Case 2: to re project my image in
British National Grid?
