I had searched in that direction, more precisely in the OGR API
documentation : http://www.gdal.org/ogr/classOGRStyleTool.html. However,
I was stuck as I did not know to which objects the styles has to be
applied. I was looking for some samples.

At that point, I have the choice between different solutions:
1) using the Atlas plugin ;
2) coming back to my first idea of using OGR ;
3) trying to examine the way Qgis projects are generated ;
4) writing a python script.

The easiest solution seems to be the first one... In the long term, I
would prefer the second one.

I shall tell you my choice.

Regards,

Benoît
