Hi Even,

By browsing what you have done with
https://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/changeset/29598, should I understand that there
is also a need for an additional edit in
http://www.gdal.org/drv_elasticsearch.html, here:

"However, the driver is limited in the geometry it handles: even if polygons
are provided as input, they are stored as geo point and the "center" of the
polygon is used as value of the point."
