[gdal-dev] Rotated image

Hello,
According to GDAL API tutorial:
"In the particular, but common, case of a "north up" image without any rotation or shearing, the georeferencing transform takes the following form ..."
In case I don't want to  be limited to "north up", is there any advanced option to save rotation information or just using a new private TRE ( I am working with NITF and using the SetGeoTransform method.) ?
