I have a NetCDF file with

-> apparently north is left and east is up
Is there any way to rotate this subdataset with GDAL tools? gdalwarp -s_srs
EPSG:4326 -t_srs EPSG:4326 does not work.

Do I have to add GCPs with gdal_translate?
