[gdal-dev] GMLAS and max length of identifier names

Hi,

Is it intentional that the GMLAS driver truncates the names of the identifiers into max 64 characters even if the output is for example GeoPackage that could handle longer names?
I know that the limit is required for PostgreSQL as documented in a comment inside the gmlasconf.xml file:
 <!-- 60 for PostgreSQL compatibility. The maximum is 64 but reserve some space so that the spatial index name can be formed -->
