[gdal-dev] GeoJSON: Why "application/vnd.geo+json" as media type?

Hi,

The GeoJSON driver https://gdal.org/en/stable/drivers/vector/geojson.html has a creation option NATIVE_MEDIA_TYPE and the only accepted value for the media type is "application/vnd.geo+json".
Is there some good reason to require that value even it is obsoleted by 
RFC7946 in favor of application/geo+json)
