I probably mentioned this in response to the wrong topic; <br>

Commiting to <b>Visual Studio Express</b> seems the best method to me.
<br>
<br>
It's free for everyone to get and fully dotnet 2.0 compatible. This way
no one has to invest big money to get up and going on Windows!<br>
It takes a bit of work but is documented; VC++ in Visual Studio Express
doesn't ship with MFC support, you have to download the MFC SDK, do
some little tricks and you're up and running<br>
