Bob,<br>Since it is a layer <b>creation</b> option, it is only set when creating a layer. Otherwise, they could interfere with existing data's validity. In this case, there may be features with dim=3.<br><br>If you want to set the dimension of the created layer, there should be a more elegant way than this. If you know the SQL command to set the dimension, use "ogrinfo -sql <command> datasource".<br>

"UNION ALL", "INTERSECT", or "INTERSECT ALL" statements perhaps? They
allow you to combine the results of two queries into a single result set (as a
