<div>Hi,</div><div><br></div><div>This error was due to the "--without-libtool" option compiling GDAL.</div><div><br></div><div>I found that I had to build GDAL <b>with</b> libtool to get java bindings working (contrarily to what's written in section "Configure and Build GDAL" from <a href="http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/GdalOgrInJavaBuildInstructionsUnix">http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/GdalOgrInJavaBuildInstructionsUnix</a>)</div>

Your LD_LIBRARY_PATH should also include the path to libgdal.so<br>
