<div dir="ltr">Folks,<div><br></div><div>I'm starting work on an OGR driver for Google Maps Engine (GME), focused on it's use as a feature store. This should be somewhat similar to the Fusion Tables driver. GME API docs are at:</div>
<div><br></div><div> <a href="https://developers.google.com/maps-engine/documentation/before-you-begin">https://developers.google.com/maps-engine/documentation/before-you-begin</a></div><div><br></div><div>It will have (I think) similar auth issues to fusion tables. Features are exchanged in GeoJSON format. </div>
<div><br></div><div>If anyone is interested in testing or potentially collaborating on this let me know. </div><div><br></div><div style>I'd hope to have something operational in a few weeks if I don't get too distracted.</div>
<div style><br></div><div style>There are also other aspects of GME that might be interesting at some point - particularly support for rasters and maps might be exposed through GDAL. If the feature access goes well I might investigate those in the future.</div>
