I understand that Science Commons are considering a dedicated data  
licence at the moment. Because databases do not necessarily benefit  
from traditional copyright protection (in the EU, there's a separate  
database right; in the US, Rural vs Feist etc. have determined that  
there is no protection other than contractual), most existing Creative  
Commons licences - with the exception of the Belgian and Netherlands  
versions - cannot easily be used for data.
