Me es grato dirigirme a usted a los efectos de anunciarle el lanzamiento de la quinta edición del "Premio a la mejor tesis de Maestría en Cartografía, Geodesia o Información Geográfica" ofrecido por el Instituto Panamericano de Geografía e Historia (IPGH). La convocatoria abrirá el 1-junio-2019 y cerrará el 30-junio-2019.
El reglamento y demás detalles están disponibles en la URL que se indica abajo. En pocas palabras, pueden presentarse tesistas de nivel de Maestría que hayan defendido su trabajo con fecha posterior al 1-enero-2015 y hasta el 31-12-2018. Se requiere que cumpla una de dos condiciones: a) ser ciudadano de un país miembro del IPGH, independientemente de la universidad que otorgue el título o b) haber egresado de una universidad con título acreditado en un país miembro, independientemente de la nacionalidad del candidato. Los candidatos deberán elaborar un documento tipo artículo científico, lo que justifica anunciar con suficiente anticipación el llamado. El poster anunciando la convocatoria puede verse en

La lista de países miembros incluye a Argentina, Belice, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Estados Unidos, Guatemala, Haití, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, República Dominicana, Uruguay y Venezuela.

I am pleased to contact you to announce the Call for Applications to the fifth edition of the "Prize for the Outstanding Master's thesis in Cartography, Geodesy and/or Geographic Information" organized by the Pan American Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH). The call will open 1st June 2019 and will close 30th June 2019. In a few words, Master's level students graduated between 1st-January 2015 and 31th, December 2018 can apply. In addition, they should satisfy one of two conditions: a) be a citizen of any PAIGH member state, irrespective of the granting university or b) have a degree granted by an accredited university in any PAIGH member state, irrespective of the student's citizenship. The candidates must write a scientific paper summarizing their work, a fact that justify an early announcement well before June.

To day we succeeded in contacted a group of more than 600 reviewers, a fact that assures an ample diffusion in the academic community, both from the Americas as well as outside. To date, member states of PAIGH are Argentina, Belice, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, United States of America, Guatemala, Haití, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.
