The European Space Agency (ESA) and the national space agency of Argentina (CONAE – Comisión Nacional de Actividades Espaciales) invite you to participate in their jointly organised L/C/X band SAR Training course, which will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 12-17 November 2018.


In the frame of the upcoming launch of CONAE’s SAOCOM mission (L-band), the objective is to demonstrate the combined use of X/C/L band SAR data for a variety of applications (including vegetation monitoring, disaster mapping and cryosphere)  and using different techniques (among which, InSAR and Polarimetry). The course will start by covering the basic theoretical aspects of SAR, and will introduce as well the different missions and applications. The practical sessions will guide participants through the use of different techniques and the interpretation of results, with time for interesting discussions with the leading experts.


The course is oriented to Argentinian users (researchers or professionals) with a minimum of previous experience in SAR Remote Sensing and GIS. Participants from other countries in Latin America may also be considered, to encourage networking and depending on the availability of places.

The language of the course will be English,
