Asunto: [Geo4All] GeoForAll contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
Dear colleagues,
In 2019, GeoForAll community organised a mini-conference on GeoForAll contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in support of World Commons Week 2019 . Details and presentation recordings at https://www.osgeo.org/foundation-news/geoforall-contributions-to-the-united-nations-sustainable-development-goals/
Building upon this we are planning a mini-conference on GeoForAll contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals during World Commons Week 2020. Details of World Commons Week 2020 at https://wcw2020.iasc-commons.org
I thank Prof. Charles Schweik (UMass Amherst, USA) who is lead organiser of the World Commons Week 2020 for inviting GeoForAll community to share ideas. I would like to invite short presentations (max 15 minutes) for this session on GeoForAll contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Please email Suchith.Anand at nottingham.ac.uk<mailto:Suchith.Anand at nottingham.ac.uk> with title and abstract of the presentation by 25th August 2020. Selected presentations will be notified by 30 August 2020.
I thank Dr. Rafael Moreno and colleagues at the Open Source Geospatial Lab at University of Colorado, USA for hosting the GeoForAll mini-conference in support of World Commons Week 2020. The recordings will be made available at the GeoForAll webinar channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL1E2akvCNWP_nC0p5CpB8g/videos
I would to like to thank all educators worldwide who have made contributions to open education [1]. Access to quality education and opportunities is key for getting rid of extreme poverty and enable broadly shared prosperity for all. We look forward to working and building collaborations with all interested on this open education mission.
Best wishes,
Suchith
