[Ica-osgeo-labs] UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre visit

Hi all,

Yesterday me and Prof. Mike Jackson (Uni. Of Nottingham) visited UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre http://www.gridw.pl 
and met with Maria Andrzejewska' (Director) and  Elżbieta Wołoszyńska-Wiśniewska (Geoinformation Senior specialist).  It was really good to discuss ideas and to see some of their interesting projects using Open Source GIS esp. their training programs.

I was impressed to see some of the work they are doing as part of GIS for Schools initiative esp. the lesson plan templates and examples developed which is relevant to the wider community.

It is always inspiring to see the amazing work done by our network members and it is now urgent that we focus to get efforts on our COST proposal (Maria Brovelli - we are looking to you for leadership on this) as it gives us the opportunity to bring together our members to discuss ideas for building more research collaborations.
