[Ica-osgeo-labs] Today's telemeeting summary

Thanks Phillip for sharing the recording url of yesterday teleconference. For those of you who could not attend our meeting will find the recorded version useful.

Luis Bermudez, yesterday i wanted to come back to discuss on educational materials for geospatial standards but i couldn't because of time limitation but i am keen that for our next teleconference we have this as a key item . It will be good if you can take lead and discuss ideas of how we can work with you to make this happen. Educating the importance of geospatial standards is important not only for students but also for wider public as well. We have developed an open access repository ELOGeo   http://elogeo.nottingham.ac.uk/xmlui  which we are building up actively with good teaching resources  but there is currently no materials on geospatial standards and this where you and OGC should play a key role. Please share your ideas/thoughts on this.

Hi all,

Thanks for all of you who were able to join today's telemeeting. It is exciting to hear amazing developments from all of you. I was especially impressed by Silviana and Arlette updates on Brazil activities esp. the news that over 10 Brazilian Universities joining our network soon. This scale of expansion is what we need for accelerating efforts. Well done to all of you for actively promoting this.

Could I request all of you to include a slide of ICA-OSGeo Lab network in all of your presentations at conferences, events etc that you are attending. That is the main way for people for new universities to know about this initiative and join us. We need to get the message across to more universities.

Thanks to Manuel and colleagues for their efforts for the website. Please do send any feedbacks/changes needed for the website to Manuel. Once our new website is ready, it will greatly help in our expansion plans also.

I hope i summarized everything correctly, if i missed any points please add them. Thanks to Phillip Davis (Geo tech Centre) who again kindly hosted our meeting. Hopefully he will send the recording of the whole meeting later.

Our next meeting is planned on 29th July (Mon) at 14:00 UTC . This is to accommodate as many people's holidays etc. Thanks again for a productive meeting.
