I am pleased to share this excellent info on the planned ISPRS Summer School on Open Source GIS, Online Sharing of Geospatial Data, Algorithm and Model, and Research and Teaching Methodologies for Master and PhD students, 6-10 July 2015, Dehradun, India. 

Many Thanks to Dr Anjana Vyas (Head of ICA-OSGeo-ISPRS lab at CEPT University, India) and Dr S K Srivastav of Indian Institute of Remote Sensing , Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for making this summer school for Master and PhD students possible. This builds up from the  successful organisation of the previous Summer School at mid-symposium of TC VI at Wuhan, China in 2014.

Theme of Summer School

i)  Open Source GIS

ii)  Online Sharing of Geospatial Data, Algorithm and Model

iii)  Research and Teaching Methodologies for Master and PhD students

Each theme expects 20 participants from colleges and universities. Members of academia and research community will also be invited to participate.

						
Venue of Summer School

Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun, India has agreed to host the Summer School in its campus. IIRS under Indian Space Research Organisation, Department of Space, Government of India is a premier Training and Educational Institute set up for developing trained professionals in the field of Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics and GPS
Technology for Natural Resources, Environmental and Disaster Management since 1966. The Institute campus also houses the headquarters of the Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and The Pacific (CSSTEAP), affiliated to the United Nations and first of its kind established in the region in 1995. IIRS provides support to conduct all its remote sensing and GIS training & education programmes at postgraduate level. Details at http://www.iirs.gov.in
