[Ica-osgeo-labs] [University-WG] Documenting OGC standards and OGC standards training

Actually, this was part of my question yesterday: I noticed dual lines of argument, whether the aim is to provide materials to back up teachers, or (self-)learning materials. Thus I believe the target group definition is a priority task.

Luis and all:

Regarding what was discussed at the Barcelona TC, on the phone yesterday, and in subsequent messages, I would caution against jumping into course material development based on prior work (we already have this and this).

The world is full of course materials that were stitched together without much planning, and the majority of these materials are not useful and therefore not used by anyone.

I recommend much more time be spent defining the goals, audience profiles, learning objectives, etc of this project, and then based on those results choose the best methodology, platform, team, etc.  That investment up front will likely produce more useful and used materials.
