Thanks Jeff for these excellent updates from the QGIS conference.

Myself and Charlie Schweik will be meeting tommorow to plan more ideas for the GeoforAll meetings and Grant sprints at FOSS4G-Europe 2015. It is great timing for Charlie's two month visit to Nottingham and i will make sure to make use of the opportunity to work with Charlie to get everything prepared for this.

Best wishes,

Suchith.

Hi Jeff, all:

Thanks for the update. I'm guessing that was Phil Davis (USA) there and not me, or a different Charlie, since sadly, I wasn't there! ;-)

Reminder for those going to FOSS4G EU in Como in July - below is the full GeoForAll meeting times. Mark your calendars!

****************************************************************************

1) Tuesday July 14th, 8:30-11:30 am - GeoForAll pre-conference meeting. Room TBD. Topics:

1a. Certification: Phil Davis has agreed to give us an update on where we are on the certification discussion and lead further discussion on that topic. (Thanks Phil)
1b. Educational content curation strategies
1c. GeoForAll and its connection to firms.

That's probably enough -- but if anyone has any other pressing issues while some of us are together let me know.

2) Thursday July 16th, 5:30 room 3.5 at Politecnico di Milano -- GeoForAll Europe meeting.
(This is a good idea... any other regions have a group attending and want to meet up?)

3) Friday July 17th, 12:00-13:00 (roon TBD) -- GeoForAll Bird's of a Feather

Open session to plan our collective activities after reflecting on the conference experiences

4) Saturday July 18th - 8:30-11:30 (room TBD) -- GeoForAll 'Grant Sprint'

- Some focus on the US SmartCity grant proposal, hopefully at least another one focused on Europe.
- If anyone is thinking about responding to a call to support our group and will be there, let me (Charlie) know.

********************************************************************************

Cheers,
Charlie Schweik

Good idea Marie and Anne.

Today at the QGIS conference about 10 educators met separately, for about 2 hours, including Ela (Poland), Charlie (USA), myself... It was a good meeting, and mostly focused on the QGIS community's need for certification. This obviously has lots of overlap with GeoForAll, and OSGeo..and I hope we can continue this discussion/plan in Como.
