The University of Sydney is aiming to recruit seventeen (17) data
science research engineers for the newly established Data-Science Hub.
The DS-Hub aims to address the opportunity presented by the unparalleled
growth in the quantity and variety of data across all areas of academic
endeavour - from new discoveries in science and health, to developing a
better understanding of individuals and society, to driving better
outcomes for business and government. The DS-Hub also provides an
opportunity for the University of Sydney to lead its peers in Australia
in developing an integrated approach to data science and its application
in all disciplines. DS-Hub’s primary aim will be to develop the capacity
to support the use of data science and promote discovery for all
disciplines in the university; assisting in data access and management,
providing support in the use of open- source and proprietary software
for generating data visualisations and data understanding. Second,
DS-Hub will develop new research, technology and tools to support
advanced uses of data science, especially in areas such as science and
health, offering the opportunity for the university to build an exciting
new research specialisation. Finally, DS-Hub will provide the
opportunity to train future students and researchers in the effective
use of data analytics methods.
The University of Sydney is aiming to appoint the following 17 roles:
