Dear Good OSGeo Folks,

A little excitement. . .and some powerful progress!

Thanks to Prof Jim Miller, University of Kansas, and
Brandt Melick, IT Director for City of Springfield,
a paper is being presented at the IEEE Smart Cities Workshop:

"Analysis and Use of Lidar Data in City Planning"
(IEEE Workshop: https://meetings.vtools.ieee.org/m/37504)

Anyone wishing a copy of the paper, please let me know.

The fruits of this labor will provide invaluable analytical tools for cities!!!

When these tools are combined with High School kids generating that Lidar data
as Ron Fortunato's www.AWorldBridge.com<http://www.AWorldBridge.com> program is doing (an OSGeo Lab!)
cities will be able to accomplsih wonders for urban management,
and do it for a song, while their students build resume gold!
