Subject: [Ica-osgeo-labs] Geo4All webinar series to be lead by University of Colarado, Denver, USA
Dear all,
Thanks to Maria's ideas and background work, we are pleased to inform that Dr Rafael Moreno (University of Colarado, Denver, USA) has kindly volunteered to be the main coordinator for Geo4All webinars from now. His lab at the University of Colarodo , Denver in addition to excellent research , teaching & training , have also been running an excellent webinar series.

Webinars are an excellent way to share our research and build more research collaborations with other labs and the wider geocommunity. At OSGeo, we do not yet have our own webinar system ( we hope one day in future we will have our own OSGeo webinar system ), so we are grateful for the volunteer support provided by Rafael and University of Colarado, Denver for this .
I also request colleagues to please inform Rafael, if you wish to present your research for these webinars and Rafael will arrange these webinars at mutually convenient time. Similar to our Geo4All newsletter initiative, i think our webinar series is a great outreach opportunity . It needs both strong volunteer team (like Nikos & co-editors) and all of us to send the updates so they can help us to make the initiative successful.
Rafael - on behalf of everyone , our sincere thanks to you and your team for volunteering on this important initiative for the community. I will also request Jason to update our webinar page with past webinars of your lab and also info. on future webinars. Jason will be able to give you login details for the website, if you wish to do it yourself

Also i hope you and your group at Denver will also represent us for the International Data Week on Sep 11-17, 2016 at Denver .Details at http://www.internationaldataweek.org which will also coincide with Research Data Alliance Plenary 8 as it is also collated with this [ 11- 16 Sept 2016, in Denver, Colorado - USA within International Data Week (co-locating ScidataCon 2016 & RDA Plenary 8]
Details are at https://rd-alliance.org/plenary-meetings.html
We can plan ideas for International Data Week and also maybe have a webinar on the importance of Open Data in Geo research :-)
Best wishes,
Suchith
