Hi Suchith,
It sounds like there is a quite a bit of overlap with OSGeo's existing
"OSGeo Advocate" list. [1]
A starting point might be to create GeoBadges by scraping information
from this list, and adding a GeoBadges map to the Advocate list. It
actually already has a number of categories which could be used, and
potentially extended.
Christian Willmes fairly recently converted this list into structured
wiki format, making it a lot easier to scrape the information from it.
Christian, you might want to join this GeoBadges meeting.
Sorry, I won't be able to make this meeting. I'll be interested to hear
what comes of it.
Warm regards, Cameron

Once the MapStory platform is launched with new functionalities, we would be announcing our partnership with MapStory Foundation to plan spatial literacy for schools and universities globally to help build spatially thinking society. We need to have lot of GeoAmbassadors (who are all volunteers) to make this program a success. One way to acknowledge the contributions of our GeoAmbassadors is we provide GeoBadges for our Spatial Literacy GeoAmbassadors. All ideas welcome on how we can plan this.
