[Geo4All] OGRS 2016

Dear All,
I'm writing you to present the upcoming OGRS 2016 Symposium.

- THE SYMPOSIUM
OGRS 2016 (Open Source Geospatial Research & Education Symposium 2016),
is an international meeting of researchers and developers interested in
the management of geospatial data using Open Source Software.

- THE SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS
OGRS 2016 will host a number of scientific sessions dealing with
different and interesting topics that you may find listed at this web
page:http://2016.ogrs-community.org/

- PUBLICATION OF THE SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTIONS ON A JOURNAL (PeerJ)
The scientific contributions submitted to the conference (deadline 15
June 2016) will be rapidly made available online (~24h) in an "OGRS2016
Collection" (PeerJ collections, citable with a DOI). Once online, the
manuscripts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee for inclusion
in the OGRS2016 programme according to an open procedure.

The best short papers will be selected by the Scientific Committee, and
the authors will be asked to submit a full paper to the “PeerJ Computer
Science” journal.

- WORKSHOPS
The symposium will host many workshops focused on geospatial softwares
and applications also listed in this page:

- SPECIAL AND SIDE EVENTS
The GFOSS.it association (official OSGeo Chapter) will organize, in
Perugia, a “Community Sprint”
EuroChocolate 2016, the famous International Chocolate Exhibition, will
start during  the days of the symposium

-THE LOCATION
The symposium will be held in Perugia (Central Italy, close to Rome and
Florence), in the period between 12 and 14 October 2016.
The main venue of the symposium will be in the historical centre of the
