Dear colleagues, GEO4All;

I send this to the list because I think it may be of interest to the global OS GEO community. I would be grateful furthermore, if you could send it on through other distributions channels and your communities.

We have had a good level of submissions, but lots of requests for more time. This gives us the opportunity to reach out further and to diversify participation. There is an opportunity here to explore the interface between global challenges / societal benefit areas and a number of data challenges of importance to GEO and the Data Sharing Working Group.

With many thanks in advance!

S.

CODATA 2017: Submission and Early Bird Registration Deadline Extended to 28 July
Following a very large number of requests from those organising sessions and planning to submit papers to CODATA 2017 'Global Challenges and Data-Driven Science’, 8-13 October 2017, Saint-Petersburg, Russia, the conference organisers have agreed to extend the deadline for submissions to 28 July. In line with this, the deadline for ‘early-bird’ registration has been also extended to 28 July 2017.

To Submit Proposals for Sessions and Papers
To submit a proposal for a session or a paper at CODATA 2017, go to http://conference.codata.org/2017/submit/ <http://conference.codata.org/2017/submit/> (you will need to register to use the CODATA abstract submission site - this is not the same as registering fro the conference).

CODATA 2017 is running simultaneous proposals for sessions and papers. The deadline for both types of proposal is now 28 July 2017. Please consult the information on Submission Procedure at http://conference.codata.org/site/submission-procedure/ <http://conference.codata.org/site/submission-procedure/>

It is the responsibility of session organisers to ensure that the papers that comprise a proposed session are also submitted by the deadline of 28 July.

Papers may be proposed either 1) in relation to simultaneous proposal for a session; or, 2) independently of a session proposal in order to be assigned to an appropriate thematic session by the organisers.
