Whether it is Agriculture and Nutrition or Urban Infrastructure Management, we need to hurry up and prepare the world for increasingly strange and severe weather. This means we need to harden infrastructure and localize energy, water and food. No time to lose!

Thanks Patrick, Maria. The NASA Europa Challenge is a great example of how science is a pursuit driven by the desire to serve humanity.

I am grateful for this opportunity to share my experiences and It is great to see top scientists from around the world coming  and working together on ideas for bridging the digital divide. I am also pleased to see that Capacity building is strongly highlighted in the Science, technology and innovation for development draft resolution. This is a great first step and I thank scientists and governments for the work for this. I really hope   the role of the Commission on Science and Technology for Development as the United Nations torch-bearer for science, technology and innovation for development will carry on with bigger impact.

Science is a search for truth and Science and technology should be for the benefit of the humanity as a whole.

I was delighted to listen to your distinguished presentation that began with the world's first view of that delicate blue-and-tan jewel, the Earth, as seen from space. And then to learn more about GODAN and the NASA GODAN Challenge! A phrase that has such a nice ring to it!

Your efforts to establish Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition are invaluable. Your presentation to the UN clearly identified the priorities, we need open tools to turn open data into actionable information.

The NASA Europa Challenge which will climax in Helsinki this year in late August is very proud to partner with GODAN for the NASA GODAN Challenge.

Let's see what Earthlings can do when they apply their energies in helping each other!
