Dear colleagues,
50 years ago (24th December, 1968) , the amazing EarthRise photo was taken by Apollo 8 astronauts from lunar orbit of our home planet. Excellent article in National Geographic on this at
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2018/12/earthrise-apollo-8-photo-at-50-how-it-changed-the-world/
On this 50th Earthrise Anniversary , I reaffirm my dedication to help create a world that is more accessible, equitable, and full of innovation and opportunities for everyone. Access to quality education and digital economy opportunities is key for getting rid of extreme poverty and enable broadly shared prosperity for all.
Spatial Education key for tackling Global Warming. By using Geographic Information System (GIS) in school education makes it easier for students to understand processes occurring in the natural environment. It then leads to seeking, determining and analyzing relationships between different elements of the natural environment and between the natural environment and societal and economic phenomena and processes. This understanding and knowledge will help these students and future decision makers to contribute to sustainable development without harming the natural environment and mitigating climate change effects.[1]
Please share our resources with all for enabling Geo education and Digital Economy opportunities for everyone https://www.osgeo.org/foundation-news/please-share-geoforall-teaching-research-resources-colleagues-students/
I am grateful to everyone who works for Open principles in Science and Education globally.
Best wishes,
Suchith
