Dear all (apologies for cross-posting),
I'm forwarding a call for abstract submissions to the EGU General Assembly 2018.
OSGeo and people from the OSGeo projects will be present at the EGU General Assembly: Information about the annual OSGeo Townhall event at the General Assembly will be announced soon.
I would especially like to invite submissions for session ESSI3.1 - Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) for Geoinformatics and Geosciences (see below for details).
The deadline for abstract submissions to the EGU General Assembly 2018 is only a few days away (10 January 2018). The EGU General Assembly 2018 again offers many opportunities to showcase your work in Earth Science Informatics (ESSI), Geoscience Instrumentation and Geoscience Data Systems (GI), and in interdisciplinary sessions.
In particular, I would like to invite you to submit abstracts to the following sessions:
ESSI1.3/GI0.6 - Linking Environmental Data, Samples and Publications
ESSI3.1 - Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) for Geoinformatics and Geosciences (PICO Session)
ESSI3.3 - Leveraging data-driven workflows to accelerate Earth Science research
ESSI4.3 - Data science, Analytics and Visualization: The challenges and opportunities for Earth and Space Science
GI2.5/AS5.18/EMRP4.13/NH6.13 - Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) as a new, emerging instrument in Geosciences
As a first-time presenter, you might also be interested in SC2.2 - Help! I'm presenting at a scientific conference!
