[Geo4All] New co-chair for GeoForAll

Hi Sergio,


I am stepping down from co-chair role as I have been in the role for over 4 years now.  It is always important for the long term success of any initiative there is always opportunity for everyone for take leadership roles. We have great talent  of colleagues in the Advisory Board, GeoForAll Lab leads , regional co-chairs , community leaders who all are well qualified to take the role of co-chair to replace me. I will actively keep contributing as volunteer for the initiative and will be there with you all supporting this education initiative .


All chair roles that I was nominated (RDA, ICA etc) I always made sure I don't do more than 4 years and worked to find suitable colleagues to replace me for leading for the future .


So I am looking forward to colleagues volunteering to serve a co-chair in my place and request the GeoForAll community to come up with the process to elect co-chair, so we have a strong system in place for the future.  I will provide my full support to whoever the community decides as the new co-chair to replace me and I will keep continuing my work as a volunteer for GeoForAll , OSGeo and all Open Education initiatives.

PS: I was at the gvSIG conference in Valencia earlier today and was truly amazed by the great work and impact they are making. Great work everyone...

Dear colleagues,


I am very grateful for the opportunity to co-chair the GeoForAll initiative and work with amazing colleagues globally over the last few years.  It is thanks to the amazing work by all our colleagues that we build great momentum for Open Principles in GeoEducation. We have now build up strong foundations for GeoForAll and I think it is the right time for me to step down from my role as co-chair of GeoForAll and invite other colleagues to come forward and take up the role for the future so we keep building up the momentum.


As we are on open community and initiative, it is important that we have an open process in place to find new co-chair to replace me. So I suggest that colleagues interested please send your expression of interest to the community list by Nov 30th, 2018 and  I request the community to come forward with ideas and process to select the new co-chair.


It is really great to see the momentum building up for GeoForAll ideas globally. I will provide my full support to whoever the community decides as the new co-chair and I will keep continuing my work as a volunteer for GeoForAll , OSGeo and all Open Education initiatives.
