Dear colleagues,

Join us for the next discussion in the Ethical Data Discussion Series, -a joint project with the Association of African Universities - as we address a critical topic in today's data-driven world:

Decolonising Data: Towards Equitable Data Governance and Knowledge Production in Science and Research.

Wednesday 8 October, 12:00-13:30 CET (10:00-11:30 UTC)

This special edition features international expert panellists Dr. Gitanjali Yadav, Dr. Kutoma Wakunuma, Dr. Pascal Mwakio, and Prof.Evelyn Chiyevo Garwe. We'll be discussing the urgent need for equitable data governance, particularly in the context of global research collaborations.

Join us as we explore the historical and contemporary inequities in data practices and discuss actionable solutions centred around data sovereignty and community-led governance. Let’s foster a meaningful dialogue among researchers, policymakers, and community advocates to promote ethical and locally-empowered knowledge production.
