Dear colleagues,

Demands for reparatory justice are reshaping global conversations across Africa, the Caribbean and the wider diaspora. These demands call not only for recognition of historical harms rooted in enslavement and colonialism, but also for structural transformation grounded in justice, dignity and shared power.

Universities, particularly in the Global North, are deeply implicated in these histories. This conference invites critical dialogue on how higher education institutions can act as accountable partners in reparatory transformation.

Building on the University of Bristol’s Reparative Futures Programme, the conference will focus on five interconnected themes:

- Universities, History and Accountability
- Co-Creation and Equitable Partnership
- Epistemic Justice and Curriculum Transformation
- Civil Society Leadership and Diasporic Voice
- From Recognition to Structural Change
