With PostGIS you don't need to use OGR.
Even some GeoMOOSE Doc.

This is what I am trying to get
at….the example is using MySQL….
If I go with Postgres how would
I change the code to hit that database?
http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/docs/howto/ogrmysql/?searchterm=ovf
So I would have to install
Postgres and PostGIS?
Thanks

Jay,
I'd highly recommend postgres with postgis over MySQL. MySQL's GIS
support is FAR lacking compared to PostGIS.
Also, the installation of Postgres + PostGIS is very painless and comes with a
nice GUI (pgAdmin III).

I am trying to get MySQL running on my computer.
I downloaded the Community Server at http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/
I then installed it on port referencing 3306
I don’t see any graphic interface. Is there one.
How do I create tables etc.
Thanks
