scale (using MAXSCALEDENOM)

Hi folks,
I realized that when using MAXSCALEDENOM for a layer in a mapfile, Geomoose will not
display this layer at the particular scale set, but only when zooming in slightly more.
EXAMPLE (applies to FF 3, IE is fine)
a:
in the mapfile MAXSCALEDENOM 1,000,000
map scale in Geomoose: 1:1,000,000
Geomoose map window: layer NOT shown
b:
in the mapfile MAXSCALEDENOM 1,001,000
map scale in Geomoose: 1,000,000
Geomoose map window: layer IS shown
The equivalent applies to the printing function. Zooming in to a scale where a layer with
MAXSCALEDENOM set is being displayed GM will not print that particular layer if the scale
which has been set in the mapfile is too close to the current scale of the map window. In
comparison to the case above, the difference in the map window scale and the scale set via
MAXSCALEDENOM has to be larger in order to print the map (applies to HTML & PDF printing
output).
EXAMPLE (tested with FF 3.0 and IE7)
c:
in the mapfile MAXSCALEDENOM 1,001,000
map scale in Geomoose: 1:1,000,000
Geomoose map window: layer IS shown
Printing result: layer NOT printed
EXAMPLE d:
in the mapfile MAXSCALEDENOM 1,001,000
map scale in Geomoose: 1:900,000 (sometimes I even have to use a larger scale)
Geomoose map window: layer IS shown
Printing result: layer IS printed
I assume that the printing issue is quite confusing for users and would leave them with
question marks in their eyes. Has anyone experienced that behavior?. Is this a server-side
or client-side problem?
If it would help, I could post one of my mapfiles as well.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Nils
