[Geomoose-users] running locally - how to

Nils,

We are running a couple remote laptops with Geomoose on it.

To do so I have Geomoose running on Apache. Pretty much all I needed to do
is copy the c:/ms4w directory from the server to the laptop. Then I had to
change my map file to use a local aerial photo image instead of LMICS
server...

Let me know if you need more help

Dear all,
I want to present parts of my GeoMoose project at a conference.
Unfortunately, the
conference people cannot guarantee that I will have internet access at the
presentation booth.

Has anyone tried to put Apache, Mapserver, GeoMoose and the associated data
of a project
onto a DVD or USBstick?

Can you recommend a certain solution / package that would be easily to adapt?

Thanks,
Nils

Sure, we've done this a few times.

Are you using MS4W? You can install MS4W onto the USB drive and run
httpd.exe manually.

Hello,

I understand that MapServer as it stands is not thread-safe in favor of
performance, but has GeoMoose been coded in such a way that it is
thread-safe?

I am curious.

Thanks,
Nelson

GeoMOOSE is safely agnostic on such issues. As GeoMOOSE is really a
collection of Javascript and PHP scripts it does not take a "stance" on
Threading. But if you're looking for an answer to satisfy managment/IT
geeks, the answer is "Yes, it is thread safe."

Dan,
thanks, I got it running on my Windows laptop. Almost as easy as the Linux
stuff ;-)

Hello,

I am having some issues while trying to use pixels for my tolerance units.
Basically a tolerance of 30 pixels returns features from several miles away.
When I try to identify with a tolerance of 100 feet everything works fine.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can get pixels to work for my
tolerance units?

Has anyone had any success implementing a multi-parcel select into GeoMoose.
I know you can return multiple search results but what I'd like to acheive
is searching for say a particular type of matching criteria, say all parcels
owned by a certain individual, and have them all light up. I don't want
someone to do this for me just an idea of how they wenty about implementing
it. Will I need to develop my own service as a substitute for using
mapserver's nquery? I notice the search uses nquery too but it only creates
a list of results, it doesn't select them... Hopefully someone can offer me
a good way to approach this.

Thanks,
Nelson Soto

With the new website, the link to access the set up of the printing service
is broken.

Can you point me to the document that helps set up the print to pdf.

It says it needs the fpdf.php but I can't seem to find the instructions for
setting this up.
