Yes, you can connect to Postgis. The easiest way is to create a MapServer map file with the connection settings. See http://mapserver.org/input/vector/postgis.html.
The NASA WMS seems to be working on our demo. It can be really slow at times. Here is the map-source we are using:
<map-source name="nasa" type="wms" tiled="false" projection="EPSG:4326" width="512" height="512">
<url>http://onearth.jpl.nasa.gov/wms.cgi</url>
<layer name="global_mosaic"/>
<param name="format" value="image/jpeg"/>
</map-source>
I'll let Dan answer the question about when 2.2 will be released. You can always get the latest (and greatest) version of GeoMOOSE from the SVN at http://geomoose.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/geomoose/moose2-trunk/. On the bottom of the page there is a link to create a tarball that can be opened with WinZip or other compression applications.

Subject: [Geomoose-users] New user - some questions
Hello,
I am a rookie user of geomoose application and I would like to have some help about some issues that concern me.
At first, is it possible to load a layer from a postgis database? Could you give me some instructions on how to do this?
The Nasa Global Mosaic wms is not working in the geomoose demo application (version 2.01 and version 2). How could I make it work?
Could you tell me whether the 2.2 version will be ready until Christmas?
note: I don't know if it is worth mentioning, I'm using Geomoose for ms4w package (using Windows Vista operating system).
Thank you very much
