[Geomoose-users] Need label opacity independent of vector layer

Dan, if you remove it from the mapbook, then it doesn't show up and you
can set separate values for each layer. I understand there is no way of
toggling on and off two layers in 1.x, correct?

Those will still show up in the GeoMOOSE 1.X TOC.

Just remove or comment out, the NAME value from the
mapfile for those layers you do not want to see in the legend.

Brent, your suggestion with the two opacities still will
show two layers
		in the TOC.

		Jim,

You could use mapserver's OPACITY setting in the map
file. Have two
		layers
in the map file (with the same name, or set STATUS
DEFAULT so they're
		both
always on), one for the geometry (OPACITY 20) and one
for the labels
		(OPACITY
100). Of course GM's fade/unfade controls would have no
knowledge of
		this, so
that may be confusing to the end users...
